Closed

Closed-no identifying information is shared between birthparents, adoptive parents and the child who was adopted.

Semi-open

Semi-open-non-identifying information is shared between all parties. Pictures and letters may be shared with the birthparents through the agency. Adoptive family provides these regular updates to be shared.

Open

Open-Identifying information is shared with all parties. Open adoption is a grand continuum of choices. Each birth family and adoptive family must decide how much and what type of contact they desire to have with one another.
